From 26-27 March 2018, Dr. Na Wang, Director of Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences (XAO), together with a group of scientists from XAO visited the Space Sciences Institute of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). During a meeting, both sides confirmed that XAO possesses excellent observation conditions and great foundations for radio, optical and star formation research. The Space Sciences Institute of MUST has established a world-class research team on the planetary science research, with the anticipation to further improve on space research. To promote the cooperation on the astronomical research and development, the “Cooperation agreement on astronomical and space scientific research between Macau University of Science and Technology and Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences” has been signed by Liu Liang, the president of MUST, and Na Wang, the Director of XAO. On March 27, Xu, Aoao, the Ex-president and counselor of MUST; Chen, Jionglin, Director of Space Science Institute of MUST; Ye, Yongxuan, a distinguished professor of MUST and other delegations held a discussion with XAO visitors on the research progress and future development of planetary science and small solar system body theory.
