The Radio Astronomy Research Office of Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory mainly engaged in the research of Pulsar, Galaxy Cosmology, Star Formation and Evolution, High Energy Astrophysics and Microwave Receiver. In recent years, as an important unit of VLBI, the Radio Astronomy Research Office has used the 25m radio telescope of Nanshan to complete a number of international VLBI joint-observations and undertake the mission of China Lunar Exploration Project as well as tasks of single antenna observation. The Radio Astronomy Research Office has gradually become an important radio astronomy institute in China.
The Radio Astronomy Research Office of Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory (Radio Astrophysics Laboratory) is a member of the Key Laboratories of Radio Astronomy of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is also the key laboratory of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The Radio Astronomy Research Office now has 49 staffs, among whom 12 have senior titles, and 14 have doctor’s degrees.
