Radio Astronomy Technology Research Division
The Radio Astronomy Technology Research Division at XAO was formed in September 2025. Its primary mission is to use observational equipment such as radio telescopes, with a focus on observational technology and instrument development. It conducts research on key technologies including microwave receivers, antenna structure and control, antenna measurement, and electromagnetic compatibility. The division aims to foster innovation in order to advance core technologies and achieve technological self-reliance, ensuring the continuous optimization and improvement of the performance of various observational equipment, thereby supporting research in radio astrophysics.
The division consists of seven technical research teams:
1. Microwave Technology Laboratory
2. Antenna Technology Laboratory
3. Digital Technology Laboratory
4. Nanshan Radio Telescope Operation and Maintenance Group
5. Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineering Technology Research Center
6. Kashi Station
7. QTT Engineering Team
The division has received multiple provincial and ministerial awards, with many of its innovations directly applied in astronomical research and observation. The division plays a critical role in advancing radio astronomy technology and in supporting the construction of the QiTai radio Telescope.
